What is video resolution 4k and 8k video types and details

Video resolution in pixels refers to the number of individual picture elements (pixels) that make up a video frame, both horizontally and verticallyHigher pixel counts result in sharper, more detailed images. Common resolutions include 480p (640x480), 720p (1280x720), 1080p (1920x1080), 2K (2560x1440), 4K (3840x2160), and 8K (7680x4320).

A 4K resolution, in the context of digital displays, typically refers to a horizontal resolution of approximately 4,000 pixels. The most common 4K resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is often referred to as Ultra High Definition (UHD).

That means the TV has 3,840 horizontal pixels and 2,160 vertical pixels, for a total of about 8.3 million pixels. On TV product specifications, resolutions are usually shown as "3840 x 2160" for 4K TVs.

Here's a breakdown of common video resolutions:
  • 480p (SD): 640x480 pixels. A standard definition resolution, once common but now considered low quality.
  • 720p (HD): 1280x720 pixels. Considered the lowest resolution to still be called High Definition (HD).
  • 1080p (Full HD): 1920x1080 pixels. The industry standard for clear, crisp HD video.
  • 2K (QHD): 2560x1440 pixels. Provides more room for editing and larger displays.
  • 4K (Ultra HD): 3840x2160 pixels. Offers significantly more detail than 1080p, and provides more flexibility for zooming and reframing.
  • 8K (Ultra HD): 7680x4320 pixels. The highest resolution currently available, offering the most detail.
